Founder Islip Travel Baseball 2007

Sports, particularly baseball, were an integral part of my life growing up.

From little league where my dad was my 1st coach through College my experiences ran the gamut, playing on some great, as well as weak teams.  I learned the game from coaches who taught it using their own styles and approaches.

I am grateful and fortunate to have met so many wonderful people who have given of themselves and worked hard to make Islip Travel Baseball a truly special club.

I have been coaching both of my sons, Michael and Timothy, since they started playing tee ball and little league at 6 years old.  Our baseball paths really got on the right track when we discovered Islip travel baseball. I was given the opportunity to coach them both as a volunteer dad.  I went “all in” and learned from the other, more experienced, Owls coaches how to coach the game to win but more importantly to develop the players along the way.

I’ve been coaching the game of baseball for over 20 years. I’ve coached every level from tee ball through varsity. I enjoy teaching the game. I find it very rewarding to watch players move on and play at the collegiate level. I spend most of my time teaching the fundamentals of the game and building baseball IQ’s. “The most talented team doesn’t always win, sometimes it’s the smarter team on the field”.
